A simple device that gets over the need for a door wedge, and is generally accepted by the enforcing authorities it operates on the sound of the fire alarm. For the door guard to work you will need a fire alarm system with automatic fire detection, it is the continual sound of the alarm that operates the doorguard which is simple to fit and is powered by battery operation.
They should be released outside normal working hours, this can be achieved by using the built in timer and re-enforced by staff who will have received the information during staff Fire safety training sessions.
Following recent guidance doorguards should not be used in means of escape routes for sleeping accommodation. This will be reflected with any other items that affecting your means of escape as part of your Fire risk assessment.
